29 December 2008

Today I made the bag in my aunt’s place with her and her tailor. Her tailor guided me throughout the process so I won’t make any mistake. It took a pretty long time just to do this because I had to record it to my notes and also my camera, so the time spent on pausing took a pretty much time.

The difficulties that I found were that when I tried the sewing machine and sometimes the thread stuck and I need to cut it, also when I sew more than I supposed to be, then the tailor showed me the way to undo the stitches which was to just pull out the stitches and sew it again. Mostly I did it step by step, carefully, and slowly, just to ensure that I won’t make any mistake.

This activity leads me to have a better understanding about PP and its expectation that I need to do a create stage in order to have the product and to fulfill the design cycle.

I can do differently by asking someone else to take a picture of me the whole time so I don’t need to pause every time I do a single step.

The Process
First garment: white; quilted pattern.

Second garment: blue-jeans; pattern.

The chains.

Steps:
1. Make an outline from carton 33cm x 39 cm, cut it. Put it on the first garment and make an outline from the carton and make it double, and then cut it. Do the same step with the second garment.

2. For each garment: from the two sides (length), the upside of the garment facing the other upside of the garment (because there are double) and sew it along the side (0.5cm for the border), and the border will be pressed and sew it along the line (do this step with the other lenght). After that, sew the width and sew each corner so the corner will look like triangle shape, and then cut it (each side).

(With the other garment too).

3. Put the second garment to the first garment (from the hole of the first garment) with the inside of the garment facing each other (the first and the second garment). Sew the upper circle that becomes the mouth of the bag, so both of the garments will attach to each other.

4. Sew the width of the second garment and sew each corner so the corner will look like triangle shape, and then cut it (each side).

5. To make it neater, sew the upper side of the first garment along the side of the mouth of the bag (with a kind of clipper tool for garments to make the direction of the line neat and straight), and do it twice (with the width of 2cm).

6. Make an outline on the carton for the holes (for where the chains will go through), considering the width of the mouth of the bag also (so it is balance). Use the tool to make it becomes hole and use it with hammer to make a hole), place it on the garment and make it twice (for each side) so there will be four holes.

7. Attach the ring to the hole and place its closer from the opposite side; do this step for four times (because there are four holes). This requires the tool to fastened the ring with its closer.

8. Put the chains through the holes of the bag (with the tool to make chain opens; open and close the chain with this tool). Put the chain from the second garment first (according to the design).

25 December 2008

Today I designed my bag with the help of my aunt. We designed the bag that is not too difficult for me to make but still proportional. For the casual design, the chain rope could be adjusted to short or long and therefore for the formal design, the chain rope fills the empty plain color by filling the sides of it and it brings the classy sense. Beside that, my aunt helped me with which parts that I need to sew, the size of the garment needed, to hole (for the chain rope to pass through), and a bit of part of the casual design that has the garment from the formal design (this is because I combine the two designs in one).

The difficulty that I found was that to imagine how the bag would look like later if it is made. My aunt helped me with using a demonstration using her own bag. This way, I understand and could imagine clearly how the bag would look like later on.

This leads me to have a better understanding about PP and its expectation that I need to pass though the design step in order to make the product (the design cycle).

23 December 2008

Today I searched for garments and materials needed in Tanah Abang with my aunt. I went from my house at 2 in the afternoon and it took around 1 hour just to get there because of traffic jam. It was so exhausting but I finally made it. We headed down to the store where my aunt usually buys garments for her bags. The store has a lot of garments and luckily there are some small portions of many garment selections that attached to the wall as the sample. I saw many good garments but eventually I need to search the specific garment which I planned to have for my bag.

I found the quilted pattern with many colors (one design only) such as black, white, crème, broken white, brown, and dark brown. I analyze one by one and I thought that white was the best and I was so lucky that white was the only color available for that type of garment. I bought 2m x 2m of that garment, just in case that I make a mistake when I sew my bag later on. This cost Rp 34, 500,-.

For my other design, I chose the jeans garment because it has a pattern, casual, and unique. This is just a right and a perfect design for teenager style. I bought 2m x 2m of that garment, just in case that I make a mistake when I sew my bag later on. This cost Rp 30, 000,-.

For the chain rope, I went to the other store because that store where I bought the garments doesn’t have the chain rope. In the other store, they have range of chains that have good qualities and unique designs. There were two colors which were silver and gold, both have many designs. When I analyze and matched it with the color of the garments, I consider that gold would be better because the silver one just doesn’t stand out the design of the garment. I analyze again the designs of the gold chains and the most complex one which has unique embosses on it would be the best and matched the most with my garments. Apparently, this chain is the most expensive among the other chains (no wonder that this is the best chain when I analyzed it just a moment before I asked about the price of it). I took 2 meters of it, just in case that I make a mistake when I sew my bag later on. This cost Rp 28, 400,-.

The difficulty that I found during this hunting is to search for the right garment that I’ll use for my bag later. Because there were so many selections so it was a little bit difficult to choose. But finally when I tried to stick to the professionalism term, I chose the right garments for my bag. These garments have a sense of professionalism and it stands out because it looks expensive but actually it is not really that expensive.

I can do differently by also hunting the garments in other places such as in Bogor, Mangga Dua, etc. But my aunt said that the garments and materials provided in Tanah Abang and in Mangga Dua are the same (so when the stock in one of those places is empty, then in the other place is also empty too). So maybe Bogor would be a good destination for another alternative to search for more garments.

30 November 2008

Today I revised my report so far and fixed some structures, grammar mistakes, informal words, and repetition. Beside that, I also consider the feedbacks that my supervisor had given to me the other day (Friday, 21 November 2008). The feedbacks that she gave me on that day were to put how the famous bag designers design their bag to add the ideas to my work and add the sense of professionalism to my personal project. This is a really brilliant idea that I can put into my work. Rather than I just design my bag by just using my sense of fashion, it is better to add this idea and have a bonus to my personal project.
So, I researched again and put it to my report and analyze it. The result of this analyze would be better with this idea.

I can do differently by survey the bags by myself such as to go to their stores and take a note of the bags’ characterizations and ask about those bags (such as the materials, etc.).
The new perspective that could be investigated further through future inquiry into the topic is to make my new design based on how they make their own design and to make or predict the new fashion trend for the new season (because every season passed by, the fashion trends are changing).

8 November 2008

Today I revised my report so far and see for the things that I need to fix. I fixed some words, sentences, and grammar structures and make it more concise and formal.
This leads me to have a better report to submit later and be checked by my supervisor first then to the IBO.

26 October 2008

Today I did the second draft of analysis of information. Before, my analysis of information still in the format of questions and answers, but in this second draft, I changed it to essay form and reconstruct the paragraphs arrangements and some sentences and words. I also changed some words that are informal to formal and more concise.

The difficulty that I found was that to search the informal words and how to change it to formal words and more concise than before. I rarely write a report which uses formal language so it’s not familiar to me. I solved it by consider the suggestions that my supervisor had given me before which is to change ‘probably’ or ‘maybe’ to ‘I think’ or something that sounds more formal.

This leads me to have a better understanding about PP and its expectation which are to have an essay format report with formal language. This essay format report is also must following the MLA report format too.

A new perspective that could be investigated further through future inquiry to this topic is to learn how to do an exact MLA report format. This is what I can do differently.

17 October 2008

Today I checked my journal and see if there’s anything needs to be added or justified. Because sometimes I forgot to write my journal, so I added a few and justified some of the written journals. I also added some photos to it.

This activity leads me to have a better understanding about PP and its expectation that I need to do my journal every time I did something that relates to my personal project (to take record). Journal is very important because this is where I put my evidences that I did something for my personal project. That’s why I need to update it every time I did something that relates to my personal project.

15 October 2008

Today I revised my plans and reports. My supervisor (Ms. Alison) has a feedback for me that I should use formal language for my reports. For example, words such as ‘probably’, ‘maybe’, and others should change into ‘I think’ or other formal language.
The difficulty that I find is that to search for the non-formal words to formal words. I solved it by focus on each of the sentence and tried to search for the non-formal words used in there and changed to formal words.

This activity and my supervisor’s feedback lead me to have a better understanding about PP and its expectation that I should make reports with formal language because the IBO demands so.
I can do differently by ask someone else to check my reports and ask them if I use formal language or not and about the structures of each report.

4 October 2008

Today I was making the trial for my bag. I decided to do this trial because I need to know how to make my bag before I actually make it, so if there’s anything wrong or need to be modified, I would know it and when the time I make the actual bag, I wouldn’t do any mistake (if there’s no any justification made on the day when I make the actual bag).
The equipments used for today were sewing machine, garments, marker, ruler, scissor, stationary (to take records), and camera (to take pictures). I use cheap materials (because this is just for the trial) and cut it to two for each different color (there are two colors) with the size of 28cmx18cm (later it would become 26cmx16cm because it would requires 1 cm for the inside sewing). After that, sew the perimeter each of the same color (1 cm distance; leave a hole for the mouth of the bag). Cut another garment (different color) for the rope of the bag (98cm) and sew at each side of one of the garment (inside) with the method of ‘X’ sewing technique. Put another color inside the other color and sew the open mouth of the bag. Then it’s done. The bag has two different colors and just simply pulls it inside out and it becomes another design.

The difficulty that I find is that to try to visualize how it would work out at the end. The tailor helps me with me sewing the garment first and then he would show me how to attach each of the garments so that at the end it would work out. He demonstrated it and then I finally understand how to; then I went back to work with him helping me with making the bag and supervise me (together with my aunt).

I can do differently by using the same rope that I’ll use for my actual bag later so that it would be better and there’s no any justification made again on the day when I make the actual bag.

25 September 2008

Today I surveyed my friends (teenager) and my aunt. List of questions:
1. Do you prefer to have a bag with double design that can be used for non-formal and formal occasion?
2. Do you see trends in selecting bags?
3. Do you prefer to have a bag with adjustable rope model or not?
4. Do you like softer design for formal occasion?
5. Do you like casual style for non-formal occasion?
For this, I print the questions on 5 papers (4 five questions each) and I cut it. Then I distributed it to my friends (16 in school and 3 outside) and my aunt (fill in by call). From this survey, I get this data:
From this data, I can see that I am right to choose to create a double design bag for my personal project and I know how to design my bag to satisfy a certain age. I know how because I can see that whether teenager see trends to choose their bags, whether they like the adjustable rope model or not, choose softer design for their formal occasion and casual style for their non-formal occasion.

The difficulty that I found is how to make the questions of the survey. I solve it by brainstorm several things that I need to check so that the product that I make will satisfy a certain age which is teenagers. These questions will lead me to how I’ll design my bag later.

This activity leads me to have better understanding about PP that I need to do survey so that I could do better in developing my product.
I can do differently by asking more detail questions about it.

New perspective that could be investigated further through future inquiry is to have more detail and selections so that I could see the result in more detail and it could be more helpful in developing my product.

23 September 2008

Today I worked on my analysis of information. I analyzed all of the information that I gathered by the help of the guidelines given by the school’s website.

The difficulty that I find is that how to take the ideas and analyze clearly the information that I gathered. I solved it by clear my mind and brainstorm it so that the information that I gathered are clearly helpful for my product.

This activity leads me to have a better understanding about PP and its expectations including AOI by analyzing the gathered information so that it could be useful for my product and considered the ideas that I found throughout the analyzing process to develop the ideas for my personal project (this shows that I really understand my chosen AOI which is Human Ingenuity, by using human creativity and etc.).

I can do differently by putting more analytical and in-depth thinking about the information that I gathered.

New perspective that could be investigated further through future inquiry into the topic/theme is that I can search more information about how the professionals work and to determine the next trend of the season so that I can be more professional in doing my work because I can predict how the next trend would look like.

9 September 2008

Today I made bibliography (MLA format) and research notes by using the outline given on the school’s website. I inserted the notes that I got from the previous days of research and gathered it all in this research notes.
This activity leads me to have better understanding about PP and its expectations because I supposed to make research notes and reflect and analyze based on what I got.

6 September 2008

Today I had an interview with my aunt who is a bag maker and designer. This person is a very reliable source for me to make the bag because she has been making bags since 10 years ago and successful. I learned a lot today such as how to design a bag for kid, teenager, and adult. From this lesson, I found out that to make a teenager bag is easier for me because I am a teenager and I know the trend among them. So I decided to make a bag for teenager. For the non-formal occasion it is better to have pattern in the design and looks trendy and for the formal occasion it is better to have a simple motif in the design with darker and softer color. Beside that, she said if I want to make two designs in one bag I should have a same pattern.
From this interview, I learned a lot such as how to start a bag industry, the basic things, and so on.

This activity leads me to have better understanding about PP and its expectation because this is a very reliable source and this is very important for the research note (reliable and primary source).

3 September 2008

Today I searched information of how to make bags on the internet and mostly I searched about the designs of the famous brands. The famous brands that I searched are ZARA, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Pull and Bear, GAP, Esprit, Dolce and Gabbana, and Channel. For some brands such as Prada, Louis Vuitton, Channel, and Dolce and Gabbana they are brands that famous of its garments made of special, expensive materials. Those types of designs are hard for me to adapt because those designs cannot be pulled inside out so it will becomes another design. So I chose ZARA, Pull and Bear, GAP, and Esprit as the alternatives. I found out that GAP and Esprit do not satisfy my expectations. In the other side, ZARA and Pull and Bear grab my attention. Those two brands are famous between adult and (especially) teenage community. I really like fall-winter black ZARA bag with chain rope and I want to adapt the idea of it to my bag, which is the chain rope. I can see that one of the attractive parts of the bag is the chain rope because of its simple but sophisticated design. In the other side, Pull and Bear has two kinds of bags that grab my attention. First one is the tote bag which can be pulled inside out and the second one is the black bag with adjustable rope. This adjustable rope is efficient for my bag because we can make it long or short depend on our taste. These designs are really develop my ideas to my design.

The difficulty that I found is that how to choose a bag that can be pulled inside out so it would make another design, because I need to visualize it really carefully. I solved it with choosing a bag with a type of garment that is not really hard but also not really soft and a type of design that can be pulled inside out based on my visualization.

This activity leads me to have a better understanding about PP and its expectations by develop my ideas about the designs as the base step of Human Ingenuity. I’m expecting to get as many ideas as possible so that I can develop it more and become something that can impact the society.

I can do differently by searching more famous brands. I know I have the limitations of knowing famous brands, so I might need to ask people about other famous brands that they know.

2 September 2008

Today, I searched videos on Youtube about basic things to make a bag, such as how to sew using sewing machine in a right way and others. I have learnt these things when I was grade 8 but I’m forget a little bit about it (and I’m planning later for my aunt’s tailor to teach me how to sew using sewing machine and ask Ibu Fitri in DT class to teach me again how to sew using sewing machine).
I found difficulty in searching the video of making multi purpose bag that I want to make. I searched in many keywords but the kind of video that I want is not exist. So, I just take the video of making a simple bag and use the information of how to sew using sewing machine in a basic way.
This activity leads me to have a better understanding about PP and its expectations because in my research notes, it would be better if it has sources like video. This would increase my grade because I searched not only in books or internet but I also use video as another source. From video, I can learn something effectively without meeting the person directly and ask how to do it.
I can do differently by search video not only in Youtube but also in another web pages or in stores (I’m doubt about this; having video of how to make bags in stores).

1 September 2008

Today, I was searching for information in books. My missions for today are look at the bookstores, ask friends if they have any books about how to make bags, and searching pictures of bags in the fashion magazines. I have looked at the bookstores in Mall Kelapa Gading (MKG; since this mall is the nearest mall to my house) which are Gramedia, TGA Bookstores, and Periplus. Out of those three bookstores, I found a good one in Gramedia, the book is in English, but the only problem is the price of the book which is around Rp 200,000,-. I don’t have that much money to buy the book and I hesitated to ask my parents to buy that book. I was thinking, is it worth it to buy the book or not with that expensive price. Then, I decided not to buy it because the price is too expensive and I thought that I won’t need it again later after I made my personal project, and I’m not really sure if I really need the book, because what if at the end the book is just a figure in my research note but at the end I didn’t use the book for my personal project? So, I made my decision to not buy the book. The pictures of bags that I found in the fashion magazines are a lot and all of them are nice. I was selecting from those designs that suited with my personal project: dual-purpose bags; which means the kind of bag that can be turn inside out without resulting strange looks if we turn it inside out. I found some and I put it on my research note.
The difficulty that I found is that to search for a specific kind of book how to make handbags. Sometimes, there is a book to make handbags, but the language is in Japanese, or the price is too expensive that I don’t think that I would buy it because I don’t have that much budget for it. So, I solved it by searching for Indonesian or English books that I can afford. Beside that, I also found the difficulty in finding the right bag pattern/design that suitable to turn inside out but still looking good. I have to imagine and visualize how I can make the bag later and confirm it to my aunt and her tailor. This activity leads me to have a better understanding about PP and its expectations because I searched for books that related to my personal project and something that I can use and worth it for my personal project. If I just search for the book but I just put it as one of the MLAs in my research notes at the end, it wouldn’t worth it to spend much money to buy the book.
I can do differently by searching in the other malls or bookstores and in school’s library. I think school’s library is a good option because if there’s book about bags, I can borrow it without have to buy it. Beside that, I also can buy the latest fashion magazine and search to the latest up-to-date bags and find that if there’s bag that can be considered to suite with my kind of bag.

19 August 2008

Today I made the second rough draft of introduction. From the last meeting with Ibu Lisa, I found out a few things that I must fix and add more in my introduction, which is really helpful for me. Also, I almost have no difficulties in creating this introduction because I already have the clue how to make it. This makes me to have a better understanding about PP because I made the introduction based on what Ibu Lisa has told me, so I know what the expectations are.

Friday, August 15, 2008

15 August 2008

Today, since my supervisor (Ms. Alison) hasn’t come to school yet, I talked to Bu Lisa about my introduction and goal. At the beginning, I said that I want to make a multi-purpose bag, but she suggested me to make three or two rather than one to make my personal project more challenging for me (but with the same pattern, to make it easier, of course). I was confused about how to make the goal and introduction. The result was the goal for my personal project is to create at least two dual function bags. Then, she helped me with construction my introduction, such as the relation with the impacts, and so on.

This opportunity really helped me to have a better understanding about PP because I got the idea of how to make my goal and introduction, also the expectation and the AOI. If I didn’t ask her how to make a good goal and introduction, I would confuse with myself with how to make it, plus my supervisor hasn’t come to school yet.

I can do differently by meeting a teacher or supervisor for discussing the personal project not during the lunch time. Today, I sacrificed my lunch time to discussing this personal project with Ibu Lisa, and wondered if I use my homeroom time (after lunch) as my lunch time (I’ll make my lunch time short, though). But unfortunately, at homeroom time Mr. Steve called all of the homework persons to gather in his room to have a meeting about the homework calendar, and I am the homework person for my homeroom. So, I didn’t get the chance to have my lunch that day, and I was so hungry. Next time, I wouldn’t sacrifice my lunch time again for discussing personal project (I’m trying to).

Tuesday, August 5, 2008

5 August 2008

Today, I made the first rough draft of my introduction. Tell the truth, I didn’t really know how to make the goal and introduction. I wrote my goal in my introduction which – I admitted – not specific enough to consider as a goal. The introduction that I made is also short, only one page and I don’t think that it is enough for the introduction. But I just following the due dates and revise it later when my supervisor has checked it, so I know what I actually must do in my introduction and with specific goal.

The difficulties that I found are how to make the goal and introduction because I don’t have any idea or clue about that. I brainstormed how to make a good, specific goal. So I decided to follow the guideline that the website provided, and that’s helpful enough for me. This made me to have better understanding about PP, though.

Friday, July 25, 2008

25 July 2008

Today, I brainstormed about the things that I want to do for my personal project. I thought about making clothes, bags, accessories, or foods. It’s obvious because I’m a girl, I love clothes, bags, and accessories, and I’m interested in those things. I also love to eat, all kind of food especially chocolates. But I considered again about the resources that I’ll use later. For clothes, I don’t know where I’ll search for the main sources such as where to interview, same with accessories and foods. Different with making bags, I have my aunt to help me out because she’s making and selling bags. So I think I want to make bags for my personal project.

Difficulties that I found are the sources that I’ll find beside the interview. I must search books about bags which is quite hard to do. Besides searching on the internet, I don’t know what media again that I’ll use. For solving this problem, I’ll search books in the library and also bookstores, I’ll buy if the book is good. And the other media, I’ll ask my supervisor for help with this. I thought about searching in magazines and newspapers, but it’s going to take a long time to search for the things that I want to know.

All the activities lead me to have a better understanding about PP and its expectation (including AOI) with considering the goal, AOI, interest, hobby, and other needs to fulfill the requirements of this personal project.

I have a new perspective of this idea of making bag, which is by making a multi-purpose bag. I think, this can satisfy my interest and also it brings something new to the society, which can affects the trends of bags.

Reflection Day 3: 28 May 2008

What did you do?
Today we have meeting with parents so that the parents know what their children are doing: Personal Project. After that, we went to the gym to take a look at the grade 10 Personal Project, and we have to interview at least 3 of them. I interviewed Tia, Winny, and Elita. After I've interviewed the 3 of them, the best 2 of the grade 10's personal projects have their explanation about their product and also the process, the 2 of them are Joshua and Elita. After we see the exhibition, we went back to fill in the questionnaire about the introduction to the personal project, which includes such as our hobbies, interests, and others. After that, we also fill the other questionnaire and made 3 of them, which was getting started. In this questionnaire, we fill in what we want to do for our personal project, how, and other stuff.

Interview results:
- Tia
Goal: influence people to avoid crime.
AOI: Social & Health Education.
Process (Steps to achieve goals): take pictures, make the book [in Kemang], use special kind of camera [for photographer].
Difficulties and Solutions: in-text citation, clear goal and detail, complete process, meet supervisor frequently every 2 weeks (discuss problems also).
Advices/suggestions for grade 9 students: make what you like, don't make something that you think it's easy but actually it's not what you want.

- Elita
Goal: promotes character building for kids.
AOI: Homo Faber and Health & Social Education.
Process (Steps to achieve goals): tutor, drawing, scan, coloring using Photoshop, using flash to moving it.
Difficulties and solutions: making music and drawing, solved by having tutor.
Advices/suggestions for grade 9 students: see supervisor frequently.

- Winny
Goal: To design and create cloth with specific theme: Gothic.
AOI: Homo Faber.
Process (Steps to achieve goals): design, pattern making, cutting pattern, sewing, finishing (laces, buttons).
Difficulties and solutions: time management and equipment.
Advices/suggestion for grade 9 students: use school's equipment and be time managed.

What difficulties did you find? How did you solve it?
The difficulties that I found is the internet connection. I can't connect to the internet but my friends can access the internet. So, I have to ask my friends to give me the file that must be downloaded. Beside that, when I did the third one of the getting started questionnaire, I don't know what to do again, I have no idea (I have brainstormed many times). But then later I found something interesting, making accessories. But that would be my least priority, because I like doing the brownies or cloth/bag better.

Were all the activities lead you to have better understanding about PP and its expectation, Areas of Interaction?
All the activities made me have a better understanding about PP and Areas of Interaction, especially when I interviewed and saw the personal projects that grade 10 did. Beside that, I also fill in the questionnaires and send it to Ibu Nalia, hope that I know what I'm supposed to do based on her feedback.

What can you do differently?
I can do differently by asking more questions when I was interviewing and interview more people so I could learn more experiences, information, and other stuff that might be useful. Beside that, maybe i could brainstorm more and think out of the box when filling the questionnaires.

Define new perspectives that could be investigated further through future inquiry into the topic/theme.
The new perspective that could be investigated further through future inquiry into the topic/theme is to think out of the box and brainstorm more about what I like and what would I love to do for my personal project, because it is not an easy decision.

Reflection Day 2: 27 May 2008

What did you do?
Today I did a small personal project with my group. Firstly, we decide the goal and the project first, and others. The project that we did was making a regulation of using the papers. Then, we make the project and divide the member of our groups into several tasks. While Putry did the journal and I did the research, Bima, Hezkiel, and Aldilo did the interview. At the end of the day, we did a presentation about our project, which is using Power Point. I think it was a success.

What difficulties did you find? How did you solve it?
The difficulties that I found is that the limitation of time and the need of more time desperately. But then those problems were solved because I managed my time wisely and finish it on time. Almost when we were going to show our presentation, just like 5 or 10 minutes before, I was busy with making the presentation. Then I success to finish it on time.

Were all the activities lead you to have better understanding about PP and its expectation, Areas of Interaction?
These activities that I did today make me have a better understanding about PP and its Areas of Interaction. By making this small PP, I know how hard it is to make PP and what things that are needed to make PP. I think it is already hard to make the small PP, and how about the real PP? I think it has a lot of work to do, and a lot of time to spend. I understand more about the Areas of Interaction by apply it into my small PP.

What can you do differently?
I can do differently by search the information in the book, so it would be more variated with the resources, and more reliable. I also can do differently by brainstorm and input more ideas and information to my groups' small personal project, and better to make it as a booklet. But we don't have much time to do that, in fact, we just use a presentation to show it to the people.

Define new perspectives that could be investigated further through future inquiry into the topic/theme.
The new perspectives that could be investigated further through future inquiry into the topic/theme are by doing a booklet, a blog, a forum, a poster, or others. By doing these severals new perspectives, we can show it more variated.

Reflection Day 1: 26 May 2008

What did you do?
Today the teachers explained to us about the Personal Project and its information that we needed to make it, such as Areas of Interaction, Personal Project criteria, watching movie [Pursuit of Happyness], and make a presentation about one of the AOI.
What difficulties did you find? How did you solve it?
Difficulties that I found is when we were trying to download a file from the internet [the Cow and Goat Song], it was so slow and sometimes the page cannot be load. So we solve it by sharing the file through the USB and spread it efficiently. Well, it took a pretty long time to did it.
Were all the activities lead you to have better understanding about PP and its expectation, Areas of Interaction?
Yes. At first I was clueless about the PP. And through the activities, such as the explanations and the presentation, I have a better understanding about the PP and the Areas of Interaction. I also have a better understanding about the criteria [even it is unexpected].
What can you do differently?
When the time of making the presentation, we, as a group, want to do a Power Point but we found out that there's something that we can do differently, which is by doing a drama.
Define new perspectives that could be investigated further through future inquiry into the topic/theme.
The new perspectives that could be investigated further are by having more relations and connections so I can get the information more, 'think out of the box' and be creative, dare to move, do a investigation, taking a risk, and many others.
